MTEX is a free and open source MATLAB toolbox for analyzing textures of crystallographic preferred orientations. It provides basic functionality to compute with orientations, misorientations, pole figure data, EBSD data, distribution functions, tensorial properties, and elastic and plastic deformations. MTEX is highly extensible, and everybody is welcome to contribute and to share their code on GitHub.
MTEX ships with binaries of the NFFT library, which form the computational core of MTEX. The developers of MTEX are listed on the MTEX people page.
