Simulation and modeling of devices, processes and equipment

The development of new materials and technologies requires new or optimized processes and equipment. Advanced models and simulation tools support the development of improved process conditions, tool configurations and film properties. Of special importance is the development of quantum-mechanical simulation models for the description of nano-scale devices and their integration in continuum-based device simulators; e.g. simulation of the transportation characteristics in CNTs and transition to metallic contacts.
