Current activities:

As of April 1, 2010, I will take up my new position as a director at the Max-Planck-Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg (extraofficial until August 31, 2010).
Guest editor of LINEAR ALGEBRA AND ITS APPLICATIONS special issue on the occasion of Danny C. Sorensen's 65th birthday in 2011.
Call for papers. Deadline: May 1, 2010. Late submissions still possible.
Member of the local organizing committee of the 17th Conference of the International Linear Algebra Society, Braunschweig, Germany, August 22-26, 2011.

Since July 1, 2007: coordinator of the research network System Reduction for Nanoscale IC Design within the program Mathematics for Innovations in Industry and Services (Mathematik für Innovationen in Industrie und Dienstleistungen) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF).
